best), meatballs (cooked ahead of time), hot peppers,

BBQ 18 Jun 2005 Melissa Lloyd |
Bread, non-stick spray, bbq meat (ground beef, pork,
shredded beef), meat cooked ahead of time, cheese
optional. Spray both sides of pie iron, place a
slice of bread in iron add bbq meat, cheese and top
with bread. Close and cook until golden. My favorite
in bbq pork, I put boneless pork chops in a slow
cooker and cover with my favorite bbq sauce. I like
this recipe because there’s no raw meat in the
cooler.

Barnyard Pies 06 Jul 2005 Jim Bauer |
Margarine on one side of bread, place in iron buttered side
down, next place thinly sliced ham roast beef and turkey (deli
meat) sometimes we add bacon also (precooked). In between layers
of meat place finely chopped onions and then drizzle with about
a tablespoon of thousand island dressing, it works best if you
put a little dressing on each layer. top with a little cheese.
top it with other half buttered bread. These are incredible!!!!

Not-So-Sloppy Joes 05 Aug 2005 Brenda K. Caldwell |
2 Slices of your favorite sandwich bread (I use white or wheat)
Manwich or other sloppy joe mix (Manwich now comes pre-mixed in the meat
section of many grocery stores, or you will need to get ground beef and
mix it yourself)
Your favorite sliced cheese (I prefer cheddar)
Butter or cooking spray
If you don't use the pre-mixed Manwich mentioned above, you'll need to
fix sloppy joe filling according to package instructions before your
camping trip. This can then be stored in a ziplock bag or plastic
container and kept in the cooler.
To Prepare: Butter one side of each slice of bread (I prefer to use
butter spray for a light, even coating) and place in pie iron with
buttered sides against the irons. Place a slice of cheese on one or
both slices of bread, making sure it reaches to within about 1/4 inch of
the edges. Place prepared sloppy joe mix in the center, leaving cheese
showing at the edges. Close and brown in your campfire or on a camp
stove. The cheese helps to seal the edges of your pie, neatly holding
the filling inside.
