You need....
-Butter the bread and place it butter sides out on the iron.
-Spread wholegrain mustard on the inside of one slice of bread
-Can of Tuna or Salmon, drain the brine and mix it up with some
lenom juice.
-Sliced Tomato
Cook until brown and serve with a dash of lemon juice on top.
P.S. here in Australia they're called jaffles.

Pulled BBQ & Cole Slaw Brandi Ranta June 19, 2003 |
Take & spray bread (or butter), place on each side of Hobo
maker. Put 1/2c. of shredded bbq. pork on one side and close.
Cook till bread is browned on both sides. Put on plate and top
with a scoop of cole slaw. MMM MMM MMMMM! (careful bbq. meat
is HOT!) You can use any kind of BBQ meat that you like.

Chicken

Place buttered soft tortilla shell in pie maker so edges hang over. Add
small pieces of chicken (can be cooked or bought precooked, I buy it
precooked so there is no extra mess). Add green peppers strips, onions,
and mozarella cheese (tomatoes if desired). Roll edges up and seal with
butter. Cook over fire! They are delicious and different!

Close to Home Breakfast

Two Slices of bread.
Two cooked scrambled eggs.
Two pre-cooked strips of bacon cut in half (so four pieces).
Grated cheese
Little salt and pepper.
Cook just as you would any other pie iron recipe.

Chunky
Pudgy Apple Sherry Madison July 2, 2003 |
Butter two slices of Cinnamon bread. Lay the bread on the pudgy
iron butter side out. Put a scoop of Apple pie filling and a
dollop of cruncy Peanut butter. Close the iron and cook away.
Takes about 5 or so minutes. Enjoy but eat carefully because it
will be hot.

Chocolate Devine Pie Bobbi Williams July 3, 2003 |
2 slices of white bread
1/3 Hersey candy bar
1 large marshmallow
1 Teaspoon creamy peanut butter
butter or margarine
optional sugar
Butter bread and place butter side down in pie maker. Put
peanut butter and chocolate on bread in pie maker. Cut large
marshmallow in half and place on chocolate.
Butter second slice of bread. Putting butter side out, close
pie maker. Cook in fire until both sides are evenly toasted.
Remove pie from the pie maker and sprinkle desired amount of
sugar on pie.

Pesto Pies Anne Quinn Corr July 10, 2003 |
Take two slices of Italian bread and brush one side with extra
virgin olive oil. Place the oiled side down in the pie irons
and top each side with 2 teaspoons of basil pesto. Place 1
tablespoon grated mozzarella and one tablespoons of roasted red
pepper strips on one side and close up the pie maker and heat in
hot coals until the cheese melts and the outside of the bread is
toasted.

Crab/Artichoke Pies Anne Kleekamp July 24, 2003 |
Mix:
1 6oz can crab meat
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp chopped onion
1/2 can quartered artichoke hearts
3/4 cup mayonaise.
Butter bread and place in pie iron butter side down. Place 1/4
cup of filling onto the bread, close the pie & cook over coals
2-3 minutes each side.

Pie Robin Gump July 29, 2003 |
I use bread buttered and sprinkle garlic on the bread. I use
tomatoes that have marinated in Italian dressing, ham, salami,
pepperoni, onion, mozerella cheese, and a sprinkling of dressing
on top of the layers befoe adding the top slice of bread.

Butter
Canned Apple Pie Filling
dash of nutmeg or cinnamon
Butter both sides of bread place pie filling between
bread and sprinkle with cinnamon close shut and cook!

Place 1 flour tortilla in pie maker top with chocolate
chips and mini marshmallows, fold up like a burrito
place cover on and heat in fire.

Cheese

2 slices honey wheat bread
soft vegetable flavored cream cheese spread
fresh tomato
cooked bacon
Butter outside of bread. Spread thin layer of cream
cheese on each inside piece of bread. Sprinkle crumbled
bacon on top of one side of cream cheese and top with
one slice of tomato. The tomato slice should have some
of the moisture taken out with a paper towel so it isn't
too wet. Place other slice of bread on top.
Spray pie iron lightly and close sandwiches and cook in
campfire.

Chili
Tortilla Margaret Bushman September 11, 2003 |
Lightly spray pie iron with cooking spray. Lay one
flour tortilla in iron, put in 1-1 1/2 Tbsp chili
(canned or home made), 1 tsp salsa, 2 tbsp
shredded cheese (we like moz and colby). Place
another tortilla on top, wet tortilla slightly
where they will come together. Close iron, cut off
excess tortilla and cook until tortilla is slightly
browned.

Butter 2 slices white bread, place butter side
down on pie iron halfs. Place 2 tbls well
drained crushed pineapple on one slice bread, 1
tsp brown sugar and 1 maracino cherry. Close
iron and cook until golden brown.

2 pieces bread (I prefer rye), tuna mixed for
sandwiches, slice of cheese
Butter the bread and place in pie iron, place
the cheese on one slice of bread, and 3 TBLS of
tuna
close the pie iron and place over the fire until
the bread is golden brown and toasty. Enjoy

Fireside Patty Melts Margaret Bushman September 26, 2003 |
Butter 2 slices of rye bread. Place them
butter side out on your pie iron. Place 1
slice american cheese on bread, add 2-3
TBLS seasoned (salt & pepper), browned
ground beef on cheese, add 1-2 TBLS sauteed
onions. Put 1 slice swiss cheese on top of
onion, close pie iron and cook until bread
is golden on both side.
