Bacon,
Egg & Cheese Biscuit Dawn Banks Contest Entry: May 23, 2002 |
Scramble an egg and fry up one piece of bacon until nice and crispy.
Spray butter flavored cooking spray on both sides of the pie iron. Take
1 large biscuit (if using small ones, use 2) from a can (such as Pillsbury)
and divide it in half. Spread out one half and lay it in the iron, place
the egg, bacon and cheese (cheddar or american) on it. Spread out
the other half and seal it on top of the bottom half. Close the
pie iron and cook it for about 10 minutes, watching it closely so it
doesn't burn. The biscuits fluff up nicely and it makes a
yummy breakfast sandwich.

Second
Hand Cheese Steak Tony Kolodziej Contest Entry: June 12, 2002 |
This is a good way to use those left over grilled meats. Lube up your pie iron with butter or cooking spray. Put on first slice of bread (your choice of white, wheat or soft rye). Chop up or slice thin leftover grilled hamburger, hotdog, chicken, pork or steak and spread on a good pinch. Add cheese, your choice, slice, chunks, or even grated parmesan. Add thinly sliced green peppers and onions. Give it a splash of italian dressing and/or tobasco. Don't forget a sprinkle of garlic powder and oregano. Top off with second slice of bread. Close it up and cook for 5-10 minutes, turning frequently. Tap on nearest rock if sticking occurs. You'll be cooking extra at grill time just for the leftovers. Greetings from Wyalusing. | |
